

Steven Rodney Werth, 65, San Marcos, TX died unexpectedly Saturday, August 9, 2014 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Rodney and Virginia Werth. Steve dedicated his life to serving his country. He served in the USMC in Vietnam and retired from the US Army where he taught nuclear medicine. Steve believed in Jesus Christ and his Lord and Savior, believing that eternal life was for all who believed. Survived by beloved wife of 38 years, Mary; sister, Judy Werth of Lincoln, NE; sister, Karen (Jeff) Smith of Pataskala, OH; brother, Duane Werth of Ft. Worth, TX; sister, Sheila Busch of Warsaw, OH; step-mother, Margaret Werth of Lincoln, NE; father-in-law, Avon (Carol) Wilkes of S.C.; sisters-in-law, Michelle (Scott) Freeberg of Sunbury, OH and Wendy Peace of Salem, IN. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by parents, grandparents, infant nephew, Geofrey and nephew, Paul. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday, August 18, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held 10am Tuesday, August 19, 2014 with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Minister Wilton Turner officiating.
