Sue Carroll Hampl

Sue Carroll Hampl, age 81, previously of Naples, Florida, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 in the company of her children in Columbus, OH. Sue was born in Lexington, Kentucky, daughter of the late Mable and Ernest May, Sr. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Hampl, and brother, Ernie May. Sue was a happy, joyful, and spirit-filled woman. She loved her family, especially her children. She was an avid golfer and member of Eagle Creek Country Club in Naples, Florida and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her children, Melanie McCloud (John – deceased), Brian Hyrne and Becky (Rick) Evans; step-children, Stephen (Barbara) Hampl, Mike (Linda) Hampl, Sandra (Paul) Ahrens, and Lisa (Rob) Hampl-Walker; grandchildren, Rebecca (Justin) Mallow, John (Liz) McCloud, Matthew (Diana) McCloud, Sean McCloud, Rachel (Danny Stephens) McCloud, Cora Evans, and Lenora (Brian) Evans-Hollmann; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Doris (Jim) Brockmeyer; brother, Jerry May; former husband and father of her children, Hal (Julia) Hyrne; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 5 P.M. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 2 P.M. until time of service Sunday. Sue’s family would like to thank National Church Residences, Jessie Mae Homes, and Capital City Hospice for the wonderful care they gave.
