Susan Albert Scott

Susie Scott entered the Life Eternal on September 5, 2025 at the age of 82. She was the beloved wife of John Christopher Scott for 55 years, the mother of John Scott (Tracy Frank Scott) and Betsy Scott Gugle (Jeffrey Gugle), and the grandmother of Lauren Scott, Andrew Scott, Abigail Gugle and Emily Gugle.

Susie was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from the Bryn Mawr School, the Maryland General Hospital School of Nursing, the Johns Hopkins University and the Union Theological Seminary. After serving in hospital nursing, community nursing, and teaching reading and religion to elementary school students, Susie decided to concentrate on a career in Christian Education, serving in leadership roles in churches in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Mexico City and Columbus. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Marble Cliff (Columbus) for 32 years. Above all, she was dedicated to her roles as wife, mother and grandmother, in which she excelled, and to a life of service and sharing God’s ministry to all she connected with. Her warmth, sharp mind, spirituality, and attention to the beauty of the world around her will always be remembered.

A Celebration of Susie’s Life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd. in Marble Cliff on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 1:30 pm.
