Thelma L. Bennett, 89, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born June 1, 1936, in Charleston, West Virginia, Thelma was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Wilburn and Virgie (Hudnall) Cooper.
Thelma was a longtime member of the Pickerington Church of Christ. She retired from Sears after many years of dedicated service. Her life was full of simple joys—curling up with a good book, sharing laughter around the euchre table with her card club, and cherishing her beloved Saturday family lunches.
Thelma was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Jim Bennett; daughter, Becky Heimann; son, Bill Higgins; parents, Wilburn and Virgie Cooper; 11 siblings; dear friends, Bob and Evelyn Justice.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughter, Karla (Tom) Smith; son, Brad Bennett; and son-in-law, Rick Heimann. She was the proud and loving "Grammie" to 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Thelma’s life on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. A private family entombment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice, whose care and compassion meant so much to Thelma and her family.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
