Theodore F. “Ted” Blain, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Majestic Care of Whitehall. Born on February 13, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio, Ted was the beloved son of the late Paul B. and Mary Blain. He dedicated many years of service as a Deputy Recorder at the Franklin County Recorder’s Office before retiring. Ted had a passion for the movies and was an avid gardener, known for his beautiful tulips, cacti, and sunflowers. He found joy in nurturing cocoons and watching them transform into butterflies. A longtime member of the Aladdin Shrine, he enthusiastically assisted with the circus and introduced many to its magic, always embracing his outgoing nature. He was also a familiar face at the fair and the Circleville Pumpkin Show, events he never missed. An active walker, Ted covered more than a mile daily and maintained his sharp sense of style even after retirement. A devoted New York Yankees fan, he never missed an opportunity to cheer for his team. His love of music was evident in his appreciation for Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Louis Armstrong. Ted is survived by his siblings, Paul and Marcia Blain; his nieces and nephews; and dear friends Latricia Fullen and Todd Merrion, whom he cherished as family.
In accordance with Ted’s wishes, a graveside service will be held at Green Lawn Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest beside his parents, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 12 noon.
