Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years Marilyn (Ayers) Beerman, his sister Peg Emrick of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, his son Andy Beerman (Thea Leonard) of Park City, Utah, his daughter Jen Bonnice, and his two granddaughters Ruth and Mariann of Oregon, Ohio.
Tom liked to say that 'he lived a good life with many blessings.' He was "dad" to many of his children's friends when they were growing up.
He spent his 32 years at Battelle working in the computer center, many of those years in management. He loved spending time at the family cottage and fishing in Indian River, Michigan. He shared his life with Marilyn, his childhood friend and college sweetheart, and every fall passionately cheered for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Tom was an active member of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus and formed many lasting friendships there, especially with his "Old Farts" group.
He loved being a grandpa. He always looked forward to chatting about life with his granddaughter Mariann. He was thrilled to watch his granddaughter Ruth, play in the OSU Marching Band. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
His good humor and optimism will be missed by all. SHMILY!
There are no services currently planned, but there will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family once it's safe to gather.
Tom served on the board of trustees at Creative Living and was passionate about providing independent living for young adults with severe physical disabilities. If you would like to make a memorial contribution or .
