

Thomas “Papa” Bentley, age 55, went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2011 after his courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. His heroic fight was as admirable as the man he was. Born May 22, 1956 in Geneva, NY to Hugh Bentley Jr. (Joan) and preceded in death by his mother Beverly Maybre, Tom will be remembered for his enthusiasm as the #1 Buffalo Bills fan. A member of One Purpose Community Church his greatest fulfillment was his love for the Lord and the Joy and honor he received when he would praise and worship Him. Awarded Foster Parent of The Year in 1998; Tom devoted his life to taking care of children, family and friends. Opening his home and heart to anyone in need, he is survived by his wife, Anne “Sunshine” Bentley together they lit up a room. Children, Sarah (Michael), Shavonne (Chris), Cory Lynn, Darrell, Sparky (Lucas) Domonice (Veronica), Abdul (LaTressa), Jessica, Mandela, Tiffany, Carlan, Shelly and Kaya; 60 foster children; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Colleen (King David) Johnson, Ish (Theresa) Bentley, Skip (Robin) Bentley and Nicole (Bruce) Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Monday, December 12, 2011 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held 9 am Tuesday, December 13th at O.P.C.C , 13142 Broad St. SW, Pataskala, OH 43062; Pastor Gary Nelson, Officiating. Please wear your favorite sports attire! Graveside service 2:30pm Tuesday in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
