

A memorial service, to celebrate the life of Thomas Hensley, 53 of Newark, will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 4:00 PM at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, with Rev. Dr. Charles W. Noble, Sr. and Pastor Tom Myers officiating.
Thomas was born in Naugatuck, West Virginia on May 3, 1958 to the late Thomas George and Edith Eugene (White) Hensley. He passed away at his residence on Friday, July 22, 2011 while surrounded by his family.
Prior to retirement, he was a maintenance technician with Harvest Management Company. He was also an underground coal miner. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church; he was a certified underground miner with the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He enjoyed building computers and watching horror movies. Most important in his life was his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Yvonne Lynn (Self) Hensley, whom he married on May 3, 1990; daughter, Kimberly Hensley; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Kylee Priest-Hensley; grandchildren, Tierani and Alexandria; brother, Eddie Hensley; sister, Laura Sexton; and his dog, Scooby-Doo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Thomas to Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
