Thomas F. Hood

Thomas F. Hood, age 81, died peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2011, at Mount Carmel Medical Center. He was born in Byesville, Ohio, then moved to Columbus to attend Bliss College. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hattie (Jerles) Hood, and a son, Toby of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Velma; daughter, Judy (Larry) Wright of Worthington; and grandson, Greg (Stephanie) Wright of Dublin. Tom retired from Anderson Concrete where he worked for 42 years. He then worked for Travel Partners of Dublin. He was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Delbert Larrick; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bennett and Shirley Tidrick; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad Street. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Sharon Beattie officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
