

Thomas A. Starbuck, age 80, formerly of Westerville, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Tom was born on April 10, 1930 in Wilmington, Ohio; he is the son of the late Charles and Esther (Doan) Starbuck. Tom is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn, who passed away in January, and by his brother, Dick and sister, Martha Jo. Tom was a graduate of Wilmington High School, and attended Wilmington College. He went on to serve his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War. Tom had a lifetime career in the furniture business, where in his later years he was the General Sales Manager of the Central Ohio Glick Furniture Stores. Tom was a history enthusiast and an avid reader. He was a sports fanatic, especially interested in all sports his grandchildren participated in, and a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan. Tom and Marilyn were involved in the Newark and Westerville South Athletic Booster Clubs during their sons’ high school years. They also enjoyed their visits to the Westerville Starbucks, where he was greeted with a “Welcome Mr. Starbuck”. Tom was a caring and loving man, who was a mentor to his sons, Steve (Karen) Starbuck and Mike (Angie) Starbuck. Tom was lovingly known as “Poppy” to his grandchildren, Jennifer, Brad, Brian and Scott; and “Uncle Tommy” to his many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 10:30am to 12:00pm at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085; where a memorial service will be at 12:00pm.
