Tim was an avid reader with a particular love for literature and comic books. He was politically engaged, often active online and passionate about staying informed. He was also a committed user and contributor to the open-source Linux community.
Tim enjoyed spending time with his brother, Paul - going on walks, museums, or game nights. He was known for being a great listener, curious about people’s life stories, and always ready with a joke to lighten the mood. He was a great community builder. Tim was proud to be from the Big D (Detroit), and he was a lifelong fan of Detroit sports. He also cherished time spent at the family cottage in Canada.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Ellyn Crane (Casey Roberts); granddaughters, Imogene Roberts and Zoey Roberts; son, Harrison Crane; siblings, Karen Crane (Hank Nash), Geriann Faustich (Mark Faustich), Eric Crane (Amy Crane), Paul Crane (Vicky Crane), and Beth Balick (Larry Balick); and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Schoedinger East. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Civil Liberties Union in Tim's memory. https://www.aclu.org/
