On January 30, 2018 we lost our mother and grandmother, Undine Kate Taylor (Pierce) 77, after succumbing to her broken heart from the death of her husband of 55 years, Ronald Taylor Sr., in July 2017.
Undine was born September 6, 1940; although her birth certificate says she was born on the 5th, she liked to tell us the hospital got it wrong because she was born after midnight which made it the 6th, in Clovis, New Mexico while her family was on a missionary trip. Her home was in Phoenix, Arizona, which is where she was raised and also where she met a handsome young man, Ron, who was headed for the Army.
When he returned she became his wife and together they had six children all of whom she is survived by; Larry, Craig (Nancy) and Ronnie (Melinda) Taylor, Heather (Junior) Flournoy, Jonathan Taylor, Doris Taylor-Wood and a granddaughter she raised, Brandy (Wes) Neibarger. She was blessed with 10 more grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with 1 on the way.
She is also survived by her sisters Deborah Swearengin of Arizona and Rebekah Ivey of Florida. Undine is pre-deceased by both her parents Everett and Doris (O’Neill) Pierce, along with her step father Edward Bucey. The family wants to again extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to the home health care staff of Kindred Hospice for the support and care they provided her.
Undine has been cremated at her request and a private service is being held in her memory. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Undine’s name, can be made to support Parkinson’s Research at www. michaeljfox.org.
Arrangements are entrusted to Schoedinger Worthington Chapel (www.schoedinger.com).
