Lit a candle in memory of Valerie A. Carter

Val was a beautiful person inside and out. She was always fun to be around and we shared quite a few laughs. We were co workers and I thank God we crossed paths it was a blessing crossings paths with such and angel. I will always remember her beautiful smile and kind spirit she will be missed.

Valerie was the type of person who could make you smile whether you wanted to or not. Her spirit was unique and she was the person who could make your day w/o her even knowing. She will be missed.

I also knew Valerie from  Verizon Wireless.  Reading all of the condolences from friends,family and co-workers speaks volumes of the type of person she was.  She had such a positive effect on everyone she came in contact with.  Love, comfort and peace to all that had the great fortune of having this angel as a part of their lives. I worked with Valerie in customer service about a yr ago before we moved to the hilliard bldg.  She was always so sweet and helpful. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this.  God bless her husband and children.  May God guide them all including friends and family through this difficult time and help them find peace.  Prayers for you all.

Valerie smile was like a ray of sunshine and you had to smile with her. It truly will be missed.

This world will be forever changed with Valerie's smile to brighten the day.  She was always the happiest one on the room, whether pointing out how short she was next to me or telling me about another random hilarious text from one of her children.  - I miss you Val. Valerie I will forever hold my memory of you finding my k cups of coffee in my desk. The look on your face was priceless, like a little kid in a candy store. :) Then you made the coconut mocha and the whole team blamed me for your hyperness.  It was hilarious watching you bounce around. You were a joy and I miss you.

Sorry for your loss. I knew Valerie through Verizon and she was always a positive funny person. I will miss her smile and laugh.

Valerie i will always remember that inncocent smile you had, and willingness to always help even if i asked the same question over and over, your attitude always reflected positive emotions.

Village of Galena Mayor & staff purchased the Dish Gardens for the family of Valerie A. Carter.

There are no words that can adequately express my sorrow at a loss such as this. I too worked with Val and had the privilege to have her smile and assistance to become better at my job. She once made origami cranes and lined our cubicle wall, I cherished those when she was promoted, and moved to a different department. I will cherish them even more now. My heart goes out to her family that she loved dearly, she will be missed by a multitude of people, may you find comfort in the words and prayers that surround you now. God Bless!

Matthew Thomas purchased the Peace Lily for the family of Valerie A. Carter.

Valerie was one of those rare souls whose smile and personality was infectious to all around her. I had to the honor of working with Valerie at Verizon Wireless, she always gave me hard time when I asked her for help with a project but in the fun sarcastic way that only she could. Valerie was loved by so many , my heart goes out everyone who knew her especially her family who she talked about often. Thank you for allowing me to know you.

I knew Valerie through Verdon Wireless.  We connected when we both were applying for for a promotion. From there we always chatted when we saw each other. Every time she saw me, she would light up and say hi. It meant more to me than she will ever know. I will miss seeing her around at work.  I am praying for Brian and the rest of her family.she was loved by many!

Words cannot express our sorrow, especially for the children losing their mother. In time, may God give you peace and understanding.

I loved Valerie so much! To see her face would instantly bring a smile to mine! Her smile would light up an entire room. Valerie had the best personality ever! She would say things like " I feel extra shiny today" I just loved that about her. We loved the movie Nemo and she was always Dori! She would come pass my desk and always sing, "just keep swimming Veronica"  that's why I loved her so much! It's ok to rest now my sweet Val. When I get to heavan me, you and Jesus will swim together! I love you and miss you!!!

I had the pleasure to know Valerie through Verizon Wireless over the past 4 1/2 years after knowing Brian as a supervisor prior to that.  Just like many others who have shared their memories here have said, Valerie was such an awesome person to know and always helpful and understanding.  Always keeping the mood cheerful and the ability to joke around all while staying productive at work.  My heart goes out to all of Valerie's friends and family at this incredibly difficult time.  I will miss you my friend.

Valerie... We started at Verizon together and you put up with me asking crazy questions up until the day I left. You always had a smile on your face no matter what. You use to motivate me to do better when I use to watch you walk the parking lot at lunch with your headphones on, joking with me to get out the car and come on. Carter family you truly had an angel. Very few people touch so many lives without saying a word. Valerie was that person. To her babies, I pray you find some kind of peace knowing your mom loves you and always will. Stay strong and keep God close.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear Valerie, my sincere condolences to the entire family. I know the pain you are feeling must at times seem unbearable please remember that you are not alone.,psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." Pray to Him for strength weep to Him when there are no words. Listen to what one of the poets of the Bible said at Psalm 56:8, "You keep track of my wandering. Do collect my tears in your skin bottle." So you see, God understands your pain, and He cares for you deeply. ( 1 Peter 5:7) He will really help you get through this difficult time. (Isaiah 41:10)

To be absent from the body is to present with the lord! Valerie or Carter is what Tosin called you always made laugh. I miss the talks about cars,bikes and kids. God has a plan for you ! This world is only temporary and I know you are doing a much more important job then just working here on earth. My heart goes out to the family as Valerie will be missed. I pray that God would surround this situation and be with everyone of you with  strength, love, and healing and be with Valeries kids as they continue on in Jesus precious Amen! Robby Roach

Val was a woman who always had a smile. She was a fiercely hard worker & someone always available for help. The Verizon community and those she's touched are blessed to have had the opportunity for such sunshine. Brian is just as hard of a worker and spreader of laughter and cheer. My heart felt condolences to the families, Valerie helped train me when I came to Verizon in 2012 and was so positive, patient and friendly!! I am devastated. My fondest memory will be this week...when she came by my desk and shared what I know now to be our last "BIG LONG HUG" together. I will forever "Love Valerie"
