Vera Jane Osborne

(Vera) Jane Osborne died at Park Village Nursing Home in Dover, OH on February 11, 2015. Jane was born on July 21, 1925 in New Philadelphia, OH to Vera Frances (Smith) and Delbert Judson Perry. She graduated from New Philadelphia High School and attended The Ohio State University. She worked as a legal secretary prior to her marriage. She married Darrel D Osborne on November 2, 1957. The Osbornes lived in various places including Oregon and New York, before moving back to Columbus. It was there that Darrel preceded her in death, in February 1985. Jane was a member of Maple Grove United Methodist Church in Columbus. In 2003 she moved to Dover, OH. Jane was an avid fan and supporter of The Ohio State University, as well as the Columbus Zoo. In addition to her parents and husband, her brother, Delbert James Perry and a brother-in-law, Ned L. Osborne, preceded Jane in death. Jane is survived by two sisters, Peg (Alan) Dunkel of Valley City and Pat (Ken) Jones of Dover. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. A funeral service will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Family will receive from 1:00 PM until time of service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jane’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Maple Grove United Methodist Church, The Ohio State University or the Columbus Zoo.
