Vernon E. McKibben

Vernon E. McKibben, age 84 of Gahanna, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2012. He was born to the late Holly and Rosie McKibben on May 13, 1928 in Iberia, OH. Vernon served as Vice President for Jess Howard Electric and retired after over 50 years of service. He was also President of the Lion’s Club of Gahanna. He was a patient, fun loving, and supportive, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Vernon was an avid fisherman and gardener. He loved to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds and OSU Buckeyes. He was very intelligent and loved to craft. He will be remembered for his patience, kindness, and sense of humor. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Holly and Rosie McKibben; and brother, Richard McKibben. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lorna; daughters, Susan (Thomas) Talling, Sheryl (Steven) Tisdale, and Diane (William) Longest; grandchildren, Sarah (Sam Castro, Laura (Bryant) Diessner, Matthew Tisdale, Brian Tisdale, and Michelle Tisdale; great-granddaughter, Sophia Castro; brothers, James McKibben and Larry McKibben; sisters-in-law, Sharon Jones and Naomi Kreachbaum; nieces and nephews, Bruce McKibben, Randy McKibben, Brian McKibben, Lisa McKibben, and Joelyn Lanning; extended family and friends. Friends may call from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at BEECHER RD) Gahanna, where the Funeral Service will be held at 12noon on Saturday, November 10, 2012. Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating.
