

Vicki Lynn Ginther, passed away unexpectedly at Riverside Hospital on Friday, March 11, 2016. She was born September 11, 1954 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Robert and Hazel (Hawkins) Ginther. The family moved to Upper Arlington Ohio in 1954, and Vicki graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1972. She studied all styles of dance and performed with a major dance studio in the Columbus area. While attending Upper Arlington High School, she was active in the vocal and instrumental music programs. She was chosen as the first "Golden Girl" featured baton twirler and field commander for the Golden Bear Marching Band. Vicki attended Ohio State and Columbus State, and had been a long time member and performer with The Sweet Adelines and Scioto Valley Chorus. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music and watching The History, Discovery and National Geographic channels. Vicki was preceded in death by her father Robert "Giny" Ginther in 2001. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Heather Ginther; granddaughter, Eva Ginther-Crocker; mother, Hazel Ginther; brother, Gary Ginther; as well as her Aunt Juanita "Jo" Hawkins Walker; and cousins, Deena (Dan) Stein, April (Jim) Jurgensen and John (Michelle) Walker. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 12-1:30 P.M. prior to a Celebration of Life Service that will begin at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43221. A private internment service will take place at Covenant Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to be made to the Covenant Presbyterian Church Music Program. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schoedinger Northwest Chapel.
