

Violet L. Woodland, 95, passed away August 28, 2017. She was born February
14,1922 and adopted as a baby by the late Theodore and Anna Tasovak, Besides her parents she is preceded in death by son, Kenneth Woodland, and sister, Mary Miley. Violet lived in Pennsylvania and West Virginia with her coal mining adoptive family until her teenage years. At that point she moved to Greenfield, where she worked in the U.S. Shoe Corporation and raised her family, before moving to Columbus. While in Columbus, Violet worked for Ohio State Life Insurance for 10 plus years, as well as Frisch's. While in her sixties, Violet loved doing competitive ballroom dancing and lived a robust life babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Little League World Series with her friends and seldom missed watching the Buckeyes play. Violet will be missed by her son, Terry (Norma) Woodland, and her daughter, Sherry (Ronnie) Nighbert; her beloved grandchildren, Scott (Janet) Woodland, Kyle (Simona) Woodland, Doug (Camie) Woodland, Kurt Woodland, Robbie Nighbert, and Shelly Nighbert; and her great grandchildren, Marissa Nighbert, in addition to Zoe, Willa , Logan, and Nolan Woodland. A Celebration of her life will be held 6:00pm Tuesday September 5th at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High Street (1/2 mile south of 270) where friends may visit the family from 5:00pm until time of service.
