Virginia M. Smith

Virginia M. "Ginny" Smith, 89, passed away peacefully in Gahanna on April 16, 2018. Born in Columbus on March 4, 1929, Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Florence (Daubert) Erb; brothers Donald, Leslie, Richard and Ralph; sisters Mary Wilhelm, Dolores Erb, Florine Meier and Martha Daubert.

She is survived by daughters Karen (Gary) Grunig, Marsha (Roger) Price, Barbara (Bryan) Keener; son Kenneth (Teresa) Smith; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Carol Kimball; brother Frank (Marie) Erb, as well as many nieces and nephews.

After retiring from the Franklin County Board of DD, her service to both young and old continued as she was a servant to many, as well as to the Lord. Physically active until the very end, she helped those at Stygler Village and then at The Worthington where she spent the last 10 years.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 4-7PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, where a funeral will be held Thursday at 1PM with Reverend Paul Keener officiating. Burial will follow at Mifflin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Franklin County Board of DD.
