William “Chuck” Baxter, age 75, of Columbus, Ohio passed away June 18, 2012. Before retiring, he owned and operated Baxter’s Sunoco, and will be remembered for his strong work ethic and his dedication to his family. He was born January 21, 1937 in Cowen, WV to the late Charles and Lucy (Hamilton) Baxter; also preceded in death by his son, John Baxter and sisters, Vivian Miller and Goldia Mason. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Baxter; children, Randy (Lynn) Warner and Kathy Showalter; grandchildren, Jonathon Baxter, Jodi Warner, Jessica Warner, Joseph Showalter, Jenni Showalter; great-grandchildren, Aeryss Singh and Elle Showalter; sister, Evelyn Miller and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 7pm Friday, June 22, 2012 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 where family will receive friends one hour prior; Rev. Janice Hilkerbaumer, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn. or the National Kidney Foundation in his memory.
