
William Dorman Sr., of Lewis Center, passed March 31, 2010. William was born May 26th 1932 in Brooklyn, NY. He served in the US Air Force in the Korean War Conflict as a Staff Sergeant and won numerous medals including the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the UN Service Medal but his heart lay in his flight missions with the B29 Bomber. After the war, he became a proud employee of the US Postal Service where he retired a Special Delivery Supervisor to the greater Columbus Area. In his spare time he enjoyed constructing model airplanes and collecting model trains. William is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Nancy Dorman; his adored children, Richard, Brenda and her husband Gary, Victoria and her husband Joseph and William Jr. and his wife Natalie. He is the beloved grandfather to Kyle, Lisa, Ryan, Corey, Ashley, Haylee, Olive and another expected September 1st. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Chelsey, Ashton, and Makenzie. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial 10 Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 10700 Liberty Rd., Powell, Fr. Jeffrey Tigyer, Celebrant. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a prayer service at 6pm at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St. (Just south of I-270), Columbus. Contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
