
William (Bill) P. Hunt Jr., 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at home surrounded by family. He was born March 15, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late William P. Hunt, Sr. and May Hunt. He was the oldest of three children, including his brother James Hunt who preceded him in death and his sister, Kay Brooke, of Granby, Connecticut, who survives. Bill attended the Columbus Academy and went on to New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. He attended Northwestern University on a football scholarship, where he was also a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and member of the Men's Club. He continued his education at The Ohio State University. He established his career in the paint industry and retired after 52 years. He served on the Worthington City Council and was the past President of the Agonis Club, where he received the "Flowers for the Living" Award in 1991. He was a longtime OSU Buckeyes fan. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Melinda Hunt; his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and John Crothers, of Oro Valley, Arizona; his daughter, Carolyn Harrison, of Tucson, Arizona; his firsr wife, Joan Newland, of Tucson, Arizona; step-daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tony Campanale, of San Diego, California; five granddaughters and six great-grandchildren; and his two dogs, Abby and Izzy. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
