

William (Bill) E. Kimble, of Columbus, died Monday, March 8, 2021. William was born July 15, 1944, in Columbus, Ohio. Bill was a loving husband, father and Papa who loved his family, dogs and teaching history. He attended North High School and was proud to be a North High Polar Bear. Bill went on to attend The Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. At Crestview Middle School, he taught Social Studies and American History for 31 years - Bill was a historian, and for his lessons to begin, he only needed ears willing to listen and a heart to learn. He also served as the Crestview track coach for 25 years before retiring in 1998. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Wynn Kimble; his mother, Isabel Kimble; and his father, Ernest Kimble. Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, D. Lee and Kathy Kimble; son, Grant Kimble; daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Scott Rupert; grandchildren, Maggie and Will Rupert and Jennifer Del Collo; great-grandchildren, Audrie, Jackson and Colton and great-great-grandson, Malachi; sister-in-law, Joy Bauserman; nephews, JD and Joseph Bauserman. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 25, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 26, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Advent Lutheran Church, 3660 Kenny Road, with Pastor Aaron Layne officiating. Entombment to follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio, Advent Lutheran Church or The American Heart Association.
