

William R. McCorkle III, age 65, has joined the King of Kings on Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born September 3, 1952 in Columbus, Ohio. Bill is preceded in death by his father, William R. McCorkle Jr. and aunt, Mildred Kline. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Roxanne McCorkle; sons, Rocky (Stacy) and Casey (Marcy) McCorkle; grandchildren, Jay, Braeden, Alana, and Lu Marlowe; mother, Mae McCorkle; sister, Nanci McCorkle; sister-in-law, Raquell Rabourn; brother-in-law, Allan Rabourn; and nephew, Hunter. Bill was a longtime Realtor and Developer. Since 1971, he was a member of the PBA where he captured one national and seven regional PBA titles. Bill was a member of the Central Ohio and State of Ohio Bowling Halls of Fame. He was viewed by the PBA family as one of the nicest gentlemen on tour and that reputation continued outside the bowling circles. Bill was the best son, the most wonderful husband, an excellent dad, and the most perfect g-pa. We all mourn this loss. May he rest in peace. Bill's family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna and 10-11 a.m. Friday, December 22 at Church of the Messiah, 51 N. State St., Westerville 43081 followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Jim Wilson officiating. Entombment Blendon Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's name may be made to Church of the Messiah.
