William Eugene Merrick

Heaven gained another angel! William E. Merrick, 75, of Columbus, passed away on May 9, 2020. He was born on February 23, 1945 to the late Clark and Rosena (Alton) Merrick. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years Shirley Ann Merrick.

Bill was a 1963 graduate of Groveport High School. He was fond of all his co-workers during his 35 years at Len Immke Buick GMC. Each customer was special to him and he kept in touch with so many.

He loved watching his Merrick boys (Willy, Dave and Chris) play and coach sports and could always be found in the stands, especially in the upper deck at Soccer First during our Sunday adult league.

He was a mentor, friend and sacrificed so much for his family. Bill never met a stranger and was loved by many.

Bill will be greatly missed by his sons, William (Joyce), David and Christopher Merrick; grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Storey, Austin (Anna) Mueller, Andrick Mueller; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Mueller and Emma Storey.
