William Clarence Sanders

William C. "Bill" Sanders, age 93, passed peacefully on October 22, 2013. Lifetime member of Hoge Memorial Presbyterian Church. Bill retired after 38 years at Battelle as a Master Mason Mechanic. Life member of Ohio Gun Collectors Assoc., Amateur Trap Assoc. and National Rifle Assoc. He was a 50 plus year member of Aladdin Shriners, Masonic Lodge of Ohio, Valley of Ohio Scottish Rite and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a 60 plus year member of the American Legion Southway Post #144. Bill was in the Army and served in the European Theater. He was an avid bowler, golfer and trap shooter and loved to hunt and fish. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruth. Survived by sisters, Evelyn "Mick" Schreiber, Irene (Jim) Cottrill and Janice (Jim) Johnston, TX; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 4-7:00 pm Friday, October 25th at the SCHOEDINGER HILLTOP CHAPEL, 3030 W. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 26, 2013, with calling one hour prior. Rev. Joel Baer officiating, Interment in Sunset Cemetery.
