William George Wright

William G. Wright, 89, of Bexley, passed away at home on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Bill was born on July 17, 1927 in Cottageville, WV to the late William and Thelma (Mahon) Wright. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Bill worked for North American Aviation as a welder before earning his Bachelor Degree in Statistics. He retired from the State of Ohio as a statistician after many years of service. Bill enjoyed traveling and delighted in nature. He was very patriotic, passionate about conservation, and a talented handyman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Jacquie (Hardy) Wright. His humble and loving heart will be dearly missed by his beloved daughter, Vanessa Wright; sisters, Mary Ellen (Bob) Parkinson and Jackie (Ben) Leith; niece, Cathy Herold; nephews, Brad Parkinson and Jay Leith; and many extended family members. Family and friends will gather to honor Bill's life from 6-8 pm Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct, Hilliard, OH 43026.
