Clifford Wayne Durfee

Clifford (Cliff) Durfee of Congers, NY, 68 years old, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2023 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol, his sons Sean Durfee (Alyssa) of New City and Paul Bartlett (Jackey) of New City, daughters Jeanette Smuzinsky (Mark) of Congers and Katie Sokasits (Glen) of Valley Cottage, and seven loving grandchildren (Sabrina, Harper, Nina, Mallory, Britton, Ryker, Griffin). He is also survived by his sisters Sandra, Donna, Linda, and Jody and his brothers Rod, Dave and Danny, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased in death by his sister, Roberta.

Cliff was born in Bridgton, Maine to Aldana and Hazel Durfee on January 1, 1955. He moved to Rockland County as a child and settled in Congers in the early 1970’s. An avid sports fan and animal lover, when he wasn’t watching the Yankees he could be found at Rockland Lake feeding the deer or taking care of his and family members’ pets. Prior to his illness, Cliff worked tirelessly to support his family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4 from 6PM-8PM at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service (113 Lake Road in Congers). Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cliff’s name to Hi-Tor Animal Shelter.
