Kathryn F. Travaglini

Kathryn F. Travaglini of Valley Cottage, NY passed away peacefully on September 16, 2012 at the age of 84. Kathryn was born on December 28, 1927 to Florence and Lawrence Prato of Congers. She graduated from Congers High School in 1946 and remained a lifelong resident of Rockland as a homemaker and owner of The Last Chance Saloon in Congers, NY. Kathryn was also a life member of the Congers Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Most of all Kathryn was a devoted mother whom selflessly dedicated her energy and time to nurture the spirits of those she loved. As the glue that held together her family, she will be remembered for many things, her warm heart, patience, generosity, but especially her innate ability to just listen. Kathryn is survived by her brother Lawrence, her sons Vincent and Michael, her daughter Natalie and son-in-law Robert, daughter-in-law Nancy, and two grandchildren Joseph and Lauren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph and her son Lawrence. Friends and family may call at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in Congers on Tuesday evening, September 18th from 7-9pm and Wednesday, September 19th from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Thursday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Congers, New York, burial to follow at Gethsemane cemetery.
