Renate Klinger

Renate Klinger 83, a longtime resident of Congers, NY died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie, NY. Renate was born in Lubeck, Germany to Theodor and Wilhelmine Korff on March 26th, 1933. She came to America in 1953 and quickly met the love of her life, Erwin Klinger with whom she shared over 40 wonderful years.

Renate loved the outdoors, traveling, and her garden. She was an awesome cook, amazing baker, and had a passion for arts and crafts. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and wife and always enjoyed the company of friends and family. She will be deeply missed by all that know her and love her.

Renate is survived by her brother and sister, Paul Korff and Marianne Zoubek, her two sons, Roland and his wife Deena, Peter and his wife Denise, and five grandchildren, Paulina, Dustin, Amy, Lianna, and Nicole.

A memorial will be held on Sunday, June 5th from 2pm to 6pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Congers. A short service will be held on Monday June 6th at 10am at the funeral home. Following Monday's service, Renate's ashes will be buried alongside her husband, at the Gethsemane Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Renate’s honor, be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
