Bruce Bentley

Bruce Bentley, 59, of Connersville, died Saturday evening, May 25, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Bruce was born September 3, 1959 in Hyden, Leslie County, Kentucky to LeRoy and Leona Morgan Bentley and attended Connersville High School. On August 30,1980, he was married in Connersville to the former Jane Lucas. Bruce was employed at H & E Machine and had previously been employed at Reliable Machine Shop near Springersville. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family. Bruce owned three race cars and spent his leisure time racing at the flat drags. Survivors include his wife of 38 years; his daughter: Sherry Robinson and her husband, Scott of Laurel; his son: Bruce A. Bentley of Connersville; his grandchildren: Jessie, Juliet and William Bentley, Kyle Robinson; his great-grandson: Caden Robinson; his sisters: Ellen Gibbs and Linda Kalkhoff, both of Connersville; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers: Wayne and William Bentley; and several aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Eric Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Bentonville Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of service.
