Carolyn Sue Koohns

Carolyn Sue Koohns, 65, of Connersville died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Reid Health in Richmond. Carolyn Sue was born in Beattyville, Kentucky on August 11, 1957 to William and Letha Mae Todd Underwood. She grew up and attended schools in Kentucky prior to her move to Connersville in 1980. Carolyn Sue married Phillip Koohns in Alabama in 1999; together they have spent twenty-three wonderful years. Every morning Carolyn Sue would light her candles and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while watching her favorite shows: Andy Griffith and Gun Smoke. After her coffee, she would turn on her country western music and proceed to cleaning and often rearranging the house. Carolyn Sue adored traveling to see new places and spending time with her children, especially Tony. Her family and friends will miss her tremendously. In addition to her loving husband, Carolyn Sue is survived by her children and their spouses: Jamie Underwood and Ashley, Anthony Underwood, Alberta Flannery, Amanda Cameron and Justin; brother: Tim Underwood; sisters: Emma Jean Taylor, June Begley; grandchildren: Letha Underwood, Dawson Flannery and Courtney Tussey, Jayden Wilber, Duncan Cameron, Brandi Underwood, Trinity Bergen, Quincey Underwood, Pacey Underwood, Ty Underwood, Ethan Stevenson, Sherry Bowles, Cassandra Knauber, Kynlee Underwood; great-granddaughter: Nora Koohns; several nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, Carolyn Sue is preceded in death by her grandson: Theodore Supinger; brother: Pat Underwood; sisters: Hazel Collins, Kathy Jo Spencer, Jacqueline Sawyer. At the request of the family, private services will be conducted and burial will take place at Orange North Cemetery, at their convience. Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville has been entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital in Carolyn Sue’s honor.
