Charles Fred Hodges Jr.

Charles Fred Hodges, Jr., age 80, of Covington, formerly of Savannah, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Conyers with Rev. Mike Nicolich officiating.

Born on February 6, 1931 in Kildare, GA to the late Ruby Mallard and Charles Fred Hodges, Sr., he graduated from Newington High School in 1948 and Georgia State College in 1959. Charles served our country in the US Army in The Korean War. He worked for Suntrust Bank in Savannah, Macon, Conyers and Atlanta. He was a member of Ebenezer UMC and The Savannah Rotary Club and The Savannah Exchange Club.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley and Margie.

Mr. Hodges is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife, Gloria Brazzell Hodges of Covington; daughters, Terry Dailey of Savannah, Lisa (Bill) Adams of Martinez, GA; son, Charles Fred Hodges, III of Conyers; step-children, Eddie (Violeta) Ragan of Washington, Barbara (John) Aycox of Oxford; 21 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6-8 PM at Horis A. Ward’s Rockdale Chapel in Conyers.
