

Don Brawley Jr. 63, of Conyers Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Born on November 2, 1947 in Jamaica, New York to Don and Rose Brawley, Don was the youngest of three children. He was affectionately known to his siblings, Bunni and Barbara, as “Sonny”. He was a man’s man, skilled with both the ability to use his hands and his intellect. Don was a hero to his friends and family. He was devoted to protecting his country both abroad and at home through the military and police department. Don honorable served as a solider in the United States Army and in God’s army. He put God first in his life and served him faithfully to his last days. Don loved and cared for his best friend and wife, Lucy, of 23 years. He raised five wonderful children, but was a father to many. Don was respected for his wisdom and faithfulness and loved for his humor and tremendous heart. Beloved husband, treasured father, adored brother, special uncle, amazing grandfather, and cherished friend. Don Brawley Jr. will be greatly missed.

Donations in Memory of Deacon Don Brawley Jr.:
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the building fund in Deacon Don Brawley Jr.'s memory. After nearly 30 years of active duty service in the United States Army, Deacon Don Brawley Jr. retired as the first African American Command Sergeant Major of the State of New York. He rightfully earned a pension of which he donated to the building efforts of Canaan Land Church International in the amount of $40K. He was passionately committed to building God's Kingdom and families and communities through the local church.
