Suzanne Words alone cannot express the depth of sorrow that we, who are left behind, feel.  To know you was a true blessing.  Your courage and determination was an inspiration.  I will miss your friendship.  All those long conversations about anything and everything, sharing hopes and dreams.  The Nationals just wont be the same without my "National Buddy".  I will miss your laughter. Heaven will be a little brighter now with your star shining in it.

It has been said that life is like a book, each page written as we live it,  Events are entered as they touch us, people we know come and go, memories are made with passing time. With this in mind I must admit that knowing you has been one of my most memorable pages.  You will always be in mind my and if nothing else I feel I now know where you will be standingâ€¦.and waiting through time.  The guardian and keeper at the foot of Rainbow Bridge.

Suzanne was a great friend and wonderful person who I will miss more than anyone will know. I know I will still look for her yellow "directors chair" at the German Shepherd Ring.

Suzanne was one of the most memorable people I have ever known: she had a mischievous sense of humor, was good company, and she was amazingly knowledgeable about German Shepherds (and other dogs).  

It was through my connection with German Shepherds that I first met Suzanne.  I saw then that she had a real passion for the breed and I learned through the years that she was fastidious about ensuring that any puppies she had planned were the healthiest, had the best temperament & were raised to be wonderful dogs.  Whether a GSD was for show or as pet-only, she had a respect for these wonderful animals that shone brightly in all she did regarding them.

Suzanne gave generously of her time & knowledge; I cannot recall how many times I would phone  her to get advice about one of my dogs...or to share an amusing or otherwise interesting episode regarding a dog...if she didn't find my stories quite as fascinating as I did, she never let on!  I always appreciated how kindly she would listen & give feedback.  Suzanne helped me find my first German Shepherd.  She had such patience & tact.  When I got my puppy, Savannah, I was like any new parent: proud, intimidated, and bursting with the need to share all of my puppy's antics & milestones!  Suzanne was there to hear me.  I am amazed to realize that this was around 16 years ago!

Suzanne was also there as I regaled her with my take on the interactions between Savannah and my first child - born in 2001 - who seemed, in a way, like my second child (the puppy being my first!).  My son met Suzanne a few years ago when she and I had returned from Germany; she impressed him so much he still remembers her with respect.

When I realized I was ready to get a second GSD, Suzanne was there again: and I got Dallas, a wonderful male -the son of Yancy (and brother to Gilli), when he was 19 months old.  Again, when I had need of advice in training this very high drive not-really-socialized dog...very different from my calm girl Savannah....Suzanne was there to help.

My dog Savannah passed in 2008, and my son believes her to be playing frisbee with Jesus.  When I told my son yesterday that Suzanne had passed away, he assured me that she would be throwing a ball for Savannah in heaven.   That is a mental picture I now treasure.

Suzanne may be gone, but I know that her love of dogs is an enduring legacy. The lasting mark she left by helping to produce so many wonderful examples of German Shepherd Dogs will continue to be appreciated by many people.

I shall miss her warmth, her humor, her kindness, her knowledge & her friendship.

 Suzanne will be much missed by all who knew her. Her special connection with her dogs was a pleasure to watch.  Her kind words and encouragement  meant so much to those of us just learning. She was so courageous thru the difficulties of her illness; an inspiration to everyone.  It will not be quite the same without her smiling face and  cheerful laugh. Suzanne - Buck & I came to GSDC for help. He needed to be a better rescue dog and I needed to learn to deal with his Schutzhund breeding and lack of socialization. You gave from your heart, you gave to him thru me, you gave me the benefit of your knowledge and perspective and tips I needed to deal with him. I will always remember your beautiful blue eyes and the warm heart you shared - I will miss you so much, and I thank God He let us cross life paths. I know you are watching us, and know you can see the love you left behind.
