During his high school years, George was a standout athlete, excelling in both wrestling and football. In addition to sports, he served as a cadet, demonstrating early on his dedication to service. Following graduation, he entered the police academy, beginning a distinguished career in law enforcement. First starting with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, George then proudly served with the Gila River Police Department for over 30 years before retiring.
In his later years, George enjoyed a quiet life. He liked visiting casinos and valued his privacy, but he also cherished the time he spent with his family and friends—many of whom he met during his years of service. Known for his kindness and generosity, George was always willing to help others without hesitation. He also had a special love for his cat, whom he dearly cherished and spoiled.
George is survived by his son, Ryan J. Osife; his siblings, Bertha Thomas, Sylvester Osife Sr., Adriana Osife, Ann Lucas, Harold Osife, Donald Osife, and Steven Isk; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Sr. and Matilda Osife; and his siblings, Albert Novealto, Herman Osife Jr., Adrian “Nick” Osife, Mary Osife, and Francisco Osife.
