Allen is survived by his loving significant other, Sharon Bruns; his cherished daughters, Samantha VanDyke and Jessica Kerr; and many dear friends and family members who were blessed to know him. A special note of gratitude goes to his devoted sister and caregiver, Clara Lukawski, for her care and unwavering support.
Allen dedicated 40 years of his life to Mercy Hospital, where he built lifelong friendships and touched countless lives with his compassion and friendly spirit. Known for his love of cars, Lincoln Logs, bowling, and travel, Allen brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He will be remembered as one of the kindest souls you could ever meet — a man whose warmth, generosity, and good humor made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Cancer Society in Allen’s memory.
A celebration of life will be held on February 10, 2026, at Gearhart Funeral Home in Coon Rapids, MN at 3:00PM until 7:00PM, where family and friends are welcome to gather, share memories, and honor Allen’s remarkable life.
Allen’s legacy of kindness and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
