Colleen J. Brenden

Preceded in death by husband of 53 years, Melvin; beloved only child, Anita Cater; brother, Floyd (Phyllis) Campbell; sister, Marion (Bill) Carey; brothers-in-law Gene Fischer and Herman Gerlach; and parents Esther and Colin Campbell.

Survived by much loved grandsons Brady and Ben Cater; son-in-law Steven (Jennifer) Cater; sisters Arlene Gerlach and Helen Fischer; sister-in-law Sharon Campbell; and special niece and caregiver Denise (Jim) Spohn. Colleen was an aunt to 13, great aunt to 23 and great-great aunt to 16, cousin, neighbor and friend to many others.

She loved her Bengalette “daughters.” A very special thank you to the staff at Select Senior Living in Coon Rapids, current and former White Pine-Blaine employees Amanda RN, Tessie and Brittney, UCare nurse Dawn S and Bluestone services (Dr. April) for their wonderful care to and on Colleen’s behalf. Despite the dark and bittersweet anniversary days of Anita and Mel’s deaths, she remained strong and positive. Kind, thoughtful and generous to all she met, we are so happy she is finally reunited in heaven with her husband and daughter. Thank you, Aunty, for your unconditional love and encouragement. You will be forever missed but never forgotten. Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM Oct. 30, 2021 at Gearhart Funeral Home 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Private family burial will take place.
