Deon'ta Jermiah Miller was born March 14th, 2001 in Chicago, IL. The youngest of five children, 1 brother and 3 sisters, he came along and completed our family as the missing piece to our puzzle. He was a bright light from the start, and continued to be that bright light throughout his life. Anyone that came into his life could feel the warm and genuine person he was.
Whether you called him Deon'ta, DJ, Miller, Brother, Uncle, or Son, no matter the relationship that brought you into his life, the one thing remains the same, and that's the kind, loving, and funny spirit of our beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. To know Deon'ta or Jermiah as his family called him, was to know how quiet he could be and yet he was always the funny and silly one putting a smile on everyone's face. He will be missed tremendously and forever in our hearts.
From his flight: A1C Deon'ta Miller was an Aircrew Flight Equipment Craftsman assigned to the 19th Operations Support Squadron supporting the 62nd Airlift Squadron. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and fill in where his peer's needed him. It was not uncommon that he would remain at work after his shift to give support to his teammates. He was knowledgeable on the job and would give guidance to the Airmen working with him, keeping everyone on task. When his teammates felt overwhelmed, he assisted without being asked. Notably, he was always willing to take over the inspections of the units Night Vision Goggles and would offer advice on how his teammates could better complete the days tasks. He had a way of empowering his friends through his guidance and never made anyone feel wrong for not knowing something. His AFE family will truly miss him. Rest in peace, Airman First Class Miller. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.
