Jan's life was defined by being fierce, passionate, and dedicated to family. Her story with Darryl began at Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming, and they were inseparable from their first meeting. She often joked that "he just wouldn't take no for an answer." After marrying in Ohio in 1968, they moved to North Carolina before making their final home in Blaine, Minnesota.
Jan dedicated 45 years to nursing at North Memorial before retiring in 2010. She cherished trips to Ohio to visit her sister, Pat, where they would enjoy playing cards, often with a butterscotch schnapps or a strawberry daiquiri in hand.
Her love for family was unconditional and absolute. To Jan, "family" extended far beyond immediate relatives to encompass anyone whose life she touched—including neighbors, her children's extended family, and the sports families of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Jean McGill; sister-in-laws, Carolyn (Gerry) Brandt, and Lina Reynolds.
Janice is dearly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, Darryl Reynolds; her children, Nicki (Dave) Reynolds Barry, Matt (Christine) Reynolds, Brian (Tammy) Reynolds; her grandchildren, Faith, Emily, Alison, Colin, Isabel, Wyatt, Makenna, and Rylee; her sister, Patricia (Melvyn) Simpson; and many other family and friends.
A celebration of Janice's life will be announced at a later date.
Her final resting spot will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery of Minneapolis, MN in the future.
