I just heard of Lacies death and my heart goes out to your family. As a new Para last year Lacey took me under her wing, and she was always there to lend me a hand whenever needed. We had some great chats and she spoke highly of her Grandma (who she has now joined), and her cousins. I was lucky enough to see her win the state championship this past year, her smile was so great. I also chaperoned prom and she and Jeff were so happy together, and couldn't wait to come find me and show off their outfits. I am left with many great memories as I know your family will be. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve Laceys passing.

I had the privilege of meeting Lacie while working as a para sub at CRHS. She was so happy and helpful during this time. She would walk with me from CRHS to Cub after school occasionally. I really enjoyed those times. She will be missed. Prayers are with the family.

Although I never had Lacie in class, she left a lasting impression and I'm fortunate enough to have gotten to know her over the last couple years. I will forever be blessed with the memories I have been given of your beautiful daughter, Lacie. As a para at CRHS I wish I could say I was there to teach Lacie and help guide her, but the truth is she was my teacher. How do we put into words how much our hearts are breaking, we can not explain how saddened we are over Lacies passing.  She brought so much joy to our lives and the lives of all that knew her.  Jeff is heartbroken over losing his sweetheart and will carry the memory of his first love in his heart forever.  He feels so badly and doesn't even know what to say to all of you that can take the pain away.  I told him that it's alright to hurt, because to hurt is to know that you love. Lacie is a special girl, and one of the first in the Mikrut clan to welcome me to the family with open arms and a smiling face at the family reunion only over a week ago.  We talked about a great many things while in Marge's kitchen and watching the fire that Saturday night.  I feel saddened that I only got to know her for such a short time, but I will cherish our talks for a life time to come.  Deepest condolences to the family.  Mikrut men, wear your nail polish proud for this blessed girl.

I believe that G_d has incorporated fate into his master plan for us.  We sometimes call it destiny, chance, good fortune or luck. It happens in many facets of our lives and sometimes we stop… stunned… and wonder why.  
 
Tim and Darleen had the good fortune to have Lacie as their daughter.  Jamie and Jessie had the good fortune to have her as a sister. It was luck to have Lacie as a cousin, niece, granddaughter and friend.
 
It was fate that took Lacie from us in the physical sense. Beyond our human control. No warning, no signs.  It is our good fortune that will keep her with us in the moments to come that will last through eternity.
 
I believe that G_d selected Tim and Darleen as parents of Lacie because he knew they were the best for her. He knew they would stand up tall and raise her with all the love they had in their hearts; they would treat her needs and provide for her the normal life she so desired.  I believe G-d’s is so proud of Tim and Darleen for the 17 years of love, guidance, discipline, and support that they gave her.  I also believe he has another plan for Lacie now. He has plans for us to love Lacie in a different way now. Although we are all uncertain to what the journey will look like or how it will feel – we will all stand up and carry on in the name of G-d and for the love of Lacie. 
 
In this time of tragedy, I believe G-d is also asking us to respect life. To cherish every moment as a gift. Just as the end of Lacie’s life here on earth was suddenly halted, Her life was one of those moments. We should value what we have rather than have not. To treat Life as the most valuable commodity in the universe. 
 
Not right now, but in time, this will make sense. We will come to accept that Lacie’s physical presence is no longer with us. We will also come to know that Lacie’s spirit will ALWAYS be a presence in all that we do. 
 
My hope is that we look at these 17 years of Lacie’s life as a gift. A good fortune. As we should look at each day we get to see another sunrise, or a smile or to embrace another challenge.  Life is a gift. Lacie is a gift. We are lucky.  We got to have Lacie’s presence for 17 years …that will last us a lifetime.

Despite several family reunions, it was not until the last Mikrut reunion that I had the privilege of getting to truly know Lacie.  I was impressed by her warmth and confidence.  I was in awe of her aura that attracted people to her, especially youngsters.  Lacie was filled with such optimism and joy which was infectious.  Her sense of self was gratifying and humbling.  I am truly saddened to think that she is no longer with us.  My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you and all who loved her.  She was an angel on this earth, and has now joined those in heaven.

Sara and I are deeply saddened by the passing of Lacie.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  We would both like to let you know that whenever we were around Lacie she always had that way of making you smile no matter how you were feeling.  In the short time that I knew her, it was apparent that Lacie had the unencumbered God given ability to know how to love unconditionally enjoying giving of herself to the benefit and blessing of those around her.  The pure joy that is brought her was always apparent on her face and reminds me that I gain the most joy by the giving of myself.  She also always came to mind whenever I looked up how the Twins were faring and will continue to come to mind whenever I do so.  Though we do not understand why God brought Lacie Home at this time we are confident that we see her again.

Such a terrible shock to hear about Lacie.  What fun it was talking to her at the reunion and seeing her dote on all the little kids.  They adored her and I know Aviawna thought so much of her.  What little comfort I might be able to offer is that, though she may not have had a long life, she got more out of hers than many people who live alot longer.  Some folks don't get 10 good years out of a life of 80.  She packed 80 into 17.  She will be missed.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
