I had Mr. Dahl for Higher Algebra in the mid-1960s at Anoka High School.  

I had missed 9 weeks of school due to illness.  Mr. Dahl was so kind.  He new I would never be a mathematician.  For the final exam, he gave me three equations.  He had to help me with two of them but still gave me a B for the year.

What a lesson in understanding and kindness he shared with me.  I often thought of him during my own 40 years of teaching.  

My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

"I was a stranger, and you welcomed me ..."  Goodbye to a good man, and God bless all of the family - with love, in Christ.

My Dearest Auntie Marilyn & family ~  My heart is so full as I think of my Uncle Lyle!!  What a great man.  What a great life he led.  What an amazing model of love for countless people who he touched in his 84 years :-)  I feel so honored to have known him and will always cherish my memories of our get togethers over the years...grateful for photos that give us fresh reminders.  I loved the online photo slideshow...such poignant pictures of the loving Lyle we knew!!  I smile now as I imagine Lyle's amazing celebration in heaven :-) You will all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers...your favorite (hee hee) niece ~ Marilyn

Dear Marilyn - I was saddened to hear of the passing of Lyle. I extend my deepest condolences to you and your family. As a science and math teacher in the town of Buffalo, ND some 55 years ago at or near the beginning of his teaching career, his teaching style and dedication were an inspiration to me to go into physics as a vocation. I am sure that he had a strong and positive impact on the lives and directions of all who knew him as a teacher or mentor.

I arrived late to the service today and  took a moment to view the family photo table then soon learned that I was at the wrong service. I did not Mr. Dahl.
 While viewing your families photos and listening to such a touching and heartfelt service I realized that the Dahl's are a close and loving family.
 I took a moment to reflect on the passing of my parents and  I realized that the love and support of friends and family is what got me thru such a difficult time.

I was a young teacher and coach at Anoka High School when I first met Lyle Dahl. I remember him as a bright man who offered his thoughts when asked and they were well thought out. From observing and listening to him, I learned how a professional educator should conduct himself. Lyle was a good guy and and made a difference in the lives of the thousands that he influenced. Thanks for sharing him.

Marilyn and family.. I will always remember Lyle and his smile everytime I would bring in his popcorn amd rootbeer. He was a great man and I am so glad I had the oppertunity to have taken care of him. And I am also blessed to have met marilyn and the rest of the family.
