Skip was born on April 25, 1944, in Lincoln Township, Minnesota. He was the first of four children born to Samuel "Bud" and Rosalie Wayne. When he was very young, the family moved to St. Paul. After graduation, Skip worked in landscaping and then for Gateway Transportation until the company dissolved. He moved to Colorado for a couple years, working at a meat packing plant, and construction with his uncle.
After returning to Minnesota, he worked for Consolidated Freightways until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Sharon Stalock on November 30, 1968, they divorced in 1981. They had one son, Clint, born in 1972. Skip enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and liked visiting the casino.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Samuel "Bud" and Rosalie Wayne; and sister, Carol "Ducka" Wayne.
Skip is survived by his son, Clint (Melanie) Wayne; two granddaughters, Miranda and Tessa Wayne; two sisters, Shirley Wayne and Tawnie (Jerry) Tesch; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.
Join us to celebrate Skip's life on Thursday, January 26th, 2023, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN. Visitation from 5 to 6 pm, with service at 6 pm. Refreshments to follow.
