Sharon Lynette Bockwitz was reunited with the Lord on February 9th, 2024. Mom is now at home with her parents, Henry and Louise Hanson; sister, Helene Salvhus; brother, Neal Hanson; niece, Shelley Salvhus, and nephew Larry Salvhus.
She was born on September 19th, 1946, in Fosston, MN, to Henry and Louise Hanson, the youngest of three children. After graduating from Bagley High School in 1964, Sharon moved to the Twin Cities area, where she married Rodney Bockwitz and raised three boys. After her children finished school, she worked at Norwest/Wells Fargo Bank for over 20 years, retiring in 2013.
Mom was enthusiastic about crafting, gardening, and bowling with her family and friends. She was truly honored to participate in the DCCT/EDIC study group for over 40 years. We believe Mom’s happiest moments were time spent with her family and special friends at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, sharing her stories with the greatest of details.
Mom will be deeply missed by her family: Brian (Jackie); Brad and his children, Alyssa, Brendan, and Kayla; Bret (Shannon) and their children, Taylor and Chelsea; stepdaughter Cheri and her son, Jeremy; her fur baby, Tushu; her feather baby, Peanut; nieces Darlene, Jean, Willa, and Beverly; and most dear friend Shirley. Sharon is also survived by her great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many dear friends, and neighbors.
Prayer Service 12:30 pm Saturday, May 4, 2024, with visitation 11:00 am until time of service at Gearhart Funeral Home - 11275 Foley Blvd. NW., Coon Rapids, MN.
