Age 84, of Coon Rapids, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019.
Preceded in death by husband of 30 years, Edward Glines Jr; husband of 20 years, Norman Becker; grandsons, Philip Thomas Glines and Richard Fiebing Glines
Violet in her younger years loved square dancing and traveling all over the State to do it! One trip was to National Square Dance Convention in San Antonio Texas. Her husband Ed Glines Jr and herself were also Co-Presidents of Coon-O-Ka Squares local square dance club!
She also was the Head Housekeeper for Hampton Inn in Shoreview for over a decade in the 80’s and 90’s!
More recently with her late husband Norm Becker, she helped run GEN Engine Repair and Esau’s Sporting Goods in Ham Lake, MN.
As her Golden Years progressed, she found many friends at the Coon Rapids Senior Center and grew to love bingo, Bunco, and going to various casinos! At 84, she even still had a valid MN Driver’s license!
She was a volunteer with the Senior Center to take other seniors to shop for groceries and goods for many years!
She also served as an election judge for the City of Coon Rapids from 2008 – 2016.
Violet is survived by her children, Katherine (Mike) Sullivan (nee Glines) of Ramsey, MN, Thomas (Shirley) Glines of Coon Rapids, MN, Rachael Glines of Andover, MN, and Lonnie (Donna) Glines of Harrison, MI; grandchildren, Brad, Angie, Leah, Levi, Justin, Crystal, Ashley, Lonnie Jr; and Laurie; many many great-grandchildren; extended family and friends whom will miss her dearly.
Funeral Service Tuesday, August 20th 12 PM with visitation two hours prior at Gearhart Funeral Home 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids.
Interment Morningside Memorial Gardens.
Special Thanks to the Allina Hospice Team that took extra special care of Mom the last week of her life! Shout out to Tanya, Jamie, Sue, Mary, and others! And to Guardian Angels Care Center in Elk River for the care they provided as well!
