Benjamin M. Giambalvo was born on Christmas Day in 1921, in Brooklyn, New York to his parents, Harry and Angelina (nee Falsetta). Veteran, United States Marine Corps. He is pre-deceased by his bride, Mary; and their daughter, Marie. Surviving are his children, Thomas; Rita and her husband Robert Ehlers; and William and his wife, Carolyn. He has four grandchildren - Lauren Ehlers Koch, Robert Ehlers, Nicole Giambalvo and Michael Giambalvo; and a great-granddaughter, Kayla. All of his brothers and sisters passed before him. The family received friends at the D'Andrea Bros. Funeral Home, in Copiague, N.Y. on Tuesday, September 7th, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. A member of the VFW, a service was offered by his post that evening at 7:30 p.m. On Wednesday, September 8th, a funeral Mass was offered at Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church in Copiague at 10:45 a.m. He was buried with his wife, Mary, at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York, with Military Honors offered by the U.S. Marine Corps.
