Carmela G. Hufnagel

Carmela G. Hufnagel, (nee Bonaventura) a life-long resident of Copiague, L.I., died Sunday, September 28, 2014. Carmela was a devoted employee and member of the Administrative Staff of Copiague Public Schools for over twenty years.

Mrs. Hufnagel is survived by her children - George, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Jennifer; Frank and daughter-in-law, Elaina; Joanne Andreotti and son-in-law, Joseph and Lisa Hufnagel. Also surviving are her cherished grandchildren - Gabriella, Ashley, Joseph, Frank, Jr., Michael, Bridget Lynn, George, III, and Carmelo George; her brothers Chris Bonaventura and Ben (Michele) Bonaventura; and her nephews - Ben, Jr. (Lex), Daniel, Gennaro and Anthony.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, George; and her brother, Frank Bonaventura.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption R.C. Church in Copiague. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
