Carmela "Millie" Maltempo

Camela, most affectionately known as "Millie" to all who loved her, is predeceased by her husband, John; her son, John Louis and her daughter, Jackie Petrone. She is also predeceased by all her siblings - brothers Angelo, Carlo, Carlo, Joseph and Mario; and sisters Vinnie and Faye; and her great-grandson, Baby Anthony Petrone. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Engasser and son-in-law, Paul; son-in-law, David Petrone; her grandchildren - Camie, Ernie and his wife, Anna, Davie and his wife, Jen; and her great-grandchildren - David, Nicky, Tommy, Johnny and Angelina.

Millie enjoyed knitting, gardening and solving crosswords. She still loved watching the Golden Girls on television, and adored listening to the music of the 1940’s. Patti remembers her as "a wonderful mom, a great cook – and she loved and cared for her family."

Family and friends will gather at the funeral on Sunday, August 26th, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. During the evening hours, a Roman Catholic Funeral Service will be offered by the Rev. Al Pankiananther. On Monday morning, all will gather at 10:00 a.m. for morning prayers, and together we will process to Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale.
