Mrs. Joan Rusignolo

Beloved wife of Carmen (January 22, 1928 - February 22, 2011) and Devoted Mother of Barbara, Thomas (deceased), Robert, and Deborah and her husband, Patrick Hegarty. Dear sister to Edward Beck, and Charlie Beck and his wife, Joanna. Forever cherished "Nana" to her grandchildren - Richard Whelan and his wife, Suzy; Jared Whelan and his wife, Lisa; Patrick Whelan (father, David Whelan); Megan Rusignolo and her husband, Adam Norotsky; Travis Rusignolo; and Sandy, Jenna, Jake and Jesse (mother, Julia Marino) Rusignolo; and her great-grandchildren - Luke and Brooke Whelan. She has been loved dearly by daughter-in-law Maddy Randone and her husband, Ed Ramos and family; as well as her faithful friends Lucille and Florence; and "adopted" son, Sean Maloney.

Having lived in Massapequa Park for 58 years, she returned to school earning a Nursing Degree; and retired as a Registered Nurse from Hofstra University. Joan's faith in God and love of family exemplified her 83 years.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, January 23rd, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in Massapequa Park on Friday at 10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
