

MaryAnn was born in, and spent much of her childhood in Buttonwood, Pennsylvania. As a young girl, her family moved to Astoria, and then later to Franklin Square. MaryAnn attended and graduated from Bryant High School in Astoria, a school attended by many in her family.
MaryAnn was a person who loved to laugh, loved to sing and adored all kinds of music. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter, making trips to Las Vegas and truly wherever the road might take them. She was an animal lover, and adored her late dog, Duke; and her surviving cat, Bella. CarlaAnn recalls her Mom as having a devotion to her family, especially her nieces and nephews. MaryAnn loved to spend time at garage sales and thrift stores; and was a Bingo fanatic. She also loved wearing her jewelry, especially rings, which makes Carla fondly call her Mom, 'Diamond Lil'.
Surviving is her beloved daughter and best friend, CarlaAnn (Lenny Castiglione). She is the cherished Grandmeow of Bella; and sister of Theodosia Oleshko. MaryAnn is predeceased by her beloved husband, Burton; her sister, Frances Brosnan and her parents, Carl and Mary Mesh.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11th from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. The Wake Service will be offered in the funeral home chapel on Thursday evening t 7:30 p.m. by Father Olvian N. Popovich. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lindenhurst. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery
