Steve was born in Hicksville to his parents, Manus and Dolores. He grew up there, graduating from Hicksville High School in 1970. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, retiring from many years of service with the Bellmore Post Office.
When time permitted, he enjoyed the outdoors. Most especially were camping, fishing, and bird watching which were his favorite activities.
Surviving is his beloved family - his children - Michael, Ryan, Jennifer and Thomas; and his siblings - his brother, Richard; and his sisters, Arleen, Adrian and Christine. Steve is predeceased by his wife, Barbara, who passed in 2006; and his sister, Kathleen, in 2019.
In light of the restrictions in place due to the pandemic, Mr. Trant will be interred at St. Charles Cemetery in a private ceremony.
